Central to the practice of the painters in this exhibition is the expansion of the imaginary as the primary source of their compositions. Eschewing the idiom and cliché of realism, they favor and explore envisaged and invented form. Exhibiting artists include: Kevin Baker, Trudy Benson, Katherine Bernhardt, Cecily Brown, Matt Conners, Jesse Chapman, Kim Dorland, Mark Flood, Rosy Keyser, José Lerma, Dasha Shishkin, Josh Smith, Denyse Thomasos and
